Skills At least the person needs to be familiar with the container business (preferable in the short sea shipping sector). Proactive and able to work on own initiative and in a team. Positive mindset of carrying changes forward, capability to work with multiple tasks parallel under pressure. Advanced command of written and spoken English language. Good communication skills. Show initiative and think of solutions to (unexpected) problems. Have technical interest (or even background). Requirements Main duties are as follows: Vessel agency: Working with Portbase Port system. Vessel clearance. Monitoring ships demands ( Sludge/garbage disposal/bunker deliveries/freshwater/Cash/Repairs/Crew) Discharge / loading lists and stowage plans to the terminals. Contact with customs, agents, terminals, shipping lines, vessels etc. Creating / distributing ISPS announcements Close contact with Customer Service, Container control & transport dept. (closings, customer demands, etc.). Reporting/checking IMDG cargo (discharge, transit & loading). Vessel Planning: Checking/changing of pre-plans if cargo mix changes. Informing all different departments of vessel information (eta, closing, etc.) Checking of pre-plans (IMDG / Plug-in units / OOG / additional bookings, late arrivals etc.) Solving all terminal problems during operations. Try vessels to sail as efficient as possible (monitor bunker consumption port to port) and give clear speed instructions to the vessels. Quay planning & Vessel management Creating a berthing place and timeslot with terminal. Discussing/updating sailing schedules with all parties involved. Maintaining sailing schedule and berthing prospects (repairs, operating time, delays, etc.) All changes and remarks concerning terminal operations must be arranged with good communication and in due time. Monitoring repairs & maintenance on vessels Creating ships sanitary certificates Sending and creating ISPS messages Communication with Port authorities (PEC, IMDG, schedules, discounts/agreements & meetings/courses) Other operational tasks Checking terminal loading lists (amounts / discrepancies / blocks etc.) Checking booking/loading list on forehand (weights, types, sizes, plug-ins, IMDG, Feeder) Informing all departments about missing units / late arrivals Inserting all IMDG stowage positions (discharge/transit/loading) in Portbase for authorities. Assisting in case of received vessel/cargo claims. Try to get PEC & Waste certificates for all vessels to save port costs. Statistics, Archive & Invoicing Checking of Voy.Reports. Update vessel/terminal statistics. Creating Harbor dues invoices (in Portbase) Creating & Checking Invoices of suppliers.
