Financial Analyst

A fast growing veterinary services group based in the United States is looking for a financial analyst. The role requires consistently reviewing hospital spending and identifying improvement opportunities. The person would work closely with the finance and operations departments. This role will also require ad-hoc financial analysis and involvement in operational efficiency projects.

This position is a fully remote contractor position, requiring full-time (40 hours per week) involvement. It has flexible working hours and may require working some evenings to participate in calls and presentations in the company’s timezone (Pacific Time).

Role description:

Support the finance and operations management teams by:
● Monitoring key business data (spending trends, KPIs) and providing timely recommendations for improvement;
● Participating in operational efficiency projects (inventory management, cost management, pricing reviews);
● Performing ad-hoc analytical tasks (budgeting, forecasting, building investment plans);
● Assisting in payroll, benefits, distributions calculations;

Support the accounting team by:
● Assisting in month-end closing processes, with a focus on invoice processing and reporting;
● Assisting in accounting tasks such as checking purchase orders, managing costs of goods sold and
operational expenses, participating in audit procedures;

Qualifications:

● Excellent English language skills;
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics;
● Proven experience (min 2 years) in FP&A, audit or accounting roles;
● Basic knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP) and financial analysis techniques;
● Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and
communicate insights effectively;
● Advanced Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerBI) skills;
● Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with
cross-functional teams;
● Knowledge of SQL - an advantage;
