Senior Economist in the Money Policy Division of Economics Department under two-year employment contract.



Economics Department of the Bank of Lithuania (BOL) is seeking a dynamic Senior Economist for its Monetary policy division. The Division contributes to analytical work on monetary policy transmission in Lithuania and the euro area and provides analytical support to the representatives of BOL in the ECB Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) and the Governing Council on matters related to the single monetary policy.[/b ]

Your responsibilities:

  • you will coordinate the BOL response to the MPC questionnaires and implementation of other MPC tasks to the Monetary policy division and other units of BOL;
  • you will manage the correspondence with MPC and the related database;
  • you will contribute to preparing analytical notes and reviews of Monetary policy division and research papers on monetary policy issues;
  • you will contribute to preparing BOL responses to media and public inquiries on monetary policy matters;
  • you will contribute to preparing material on monetary policy issues under consideration at the ECB level.



We expect from you:

  • final year of bachelor studies or bachelor/master's degree in economics, finance, or political science;
  • good proficiency in English in the fields of economics and finance;
  • ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • experience of working with international financial institutions, knowledge of econometrics and/or statistics would be treated as advantages.



Other related information:

  • the salary will depend on the competences and work experience. The monthly gross salary (gross) ranges from 3216 to 4020 Eur. The net salary after taxes can be calculated by multiplying the gross salary by a coefficient of 0.5896.
  • The duration of the contract is until the end of May 2026. During the contract period, you will have an opportunity to apply to the other vacant positions at BOL.
