About the Opportunity

A large global e-commerce company is carving out a significant part of its business into a newly established standalone entity and is now building its leadership team. We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead this new venture through its next stage of growth.

From day one, the CEO will take over an existing portfolio of products transferred from the parent company, inherit a core team, and benefit from strong financial backing. The initial team will consist of approximately 10–11 experienced e-commerce and digital marketing professionals, with a target of scaling the organization to around 30 employees within the first six months.

The company has ambitious growth objectives, with a first-year revenue target of €50 million. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to build and scale a high-growth e-commerce business while leveraging the resources, expertise, and support of an established market player.

The type of leader we’re looking for

This role is not for someone looking to inherit a well-established business. We are looking for a builder — someone excited by the challenge of creating, scaling and growing a business from the ground up.

You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, making decisions with incomplete information and solving problems without waiting for perfect conditions. You take ownership naturally, move quickly and adapt when circumstances change.

You are highly commercial, understand how businesses make money and know how to balance growth with profitability. You are equally comfortable discussing marketing performance, business strategy, operational challenges and financial results.

Most importantly, you are motivated by outcomes. Building teams, growing revenue, entering new markets and turning opportunities into successful businesses is what energises you.

Your Mission

We are looking for an experienced business leader with a strong background in e-commerce and digital marketing to build and scale a new international online business.

This role offers a unique opportunity to take full ownership from day one – defining the commercial strategy, building the team, driving customer acquisition, optimizing conversion rates, and creating a scalable and profitable e-commerce operation.

Your role will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for performance-driven digital growth across multiple international markets, ensuring strong alignment between performance marketing, product, operations, and technology teams. You will focus on building scalable growth capabilities that enhance the end-to-end customer journey, increase customer lifetime value, and drive sustainable, long-term revenue growth.

As the business leader, you will oversee all key aspects of the company, from e-commerce performance and marketing efficiency to profitability and international expansion. Your mission will be to transform a new venture into a high-performing, data-driven, and profitable e-commerce business serving customers across multiple international markets.

While you will have the autonomy and ownership typically associated with building a business from the ground up, you will not be starting from scratch. The venture is backed by an established parent company that provides financial resources, operational support, industry expertise, and access to proven infrastructure, allowing you to focus on accelerating growth and executing the business strategy with confidence.

Your responsibilities:

  • Own the overall business strategy, growth and profitability of the company.
  • Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing team.
  • Take full ownership of P&L, budgeting and financial performance.
  • Define commercial priorities and allocate resources to maximise business results.
  • Drive international expansion and identify new market opportunities.
  • Oversee product portfolio development and growth initiatives.
  • Work closely across performance marketing, operations, finance, product and technology functions.
  • Build scalable structures, processes and ways of working.
  • Ensure the business achieves ambitious growth and profitability targets.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience leading a business, business unit, or high-growth function within e-commerce, DTC, subscription-based, digital product, or other fast-growing consumer businesses.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with deep understanding of P&L management.
  • Strong understanding of growth, e-commerce, performance marketing, operations and business economics.
  • Experience building and leading teams.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Experience operating across international markets.
