As a Fraud Prevention Officer (FPO), you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating fraud risks across payment services. You will work closely with Risk, Operations, IT, AML, and Customer Support teams to monitor transactions, investigate fraud cases, improve prevention controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in strengthening fraud detection frameworks, responding to incidents, and protecting both customers and the organisation from financial crime.
As a Fraud Prevention Officer (FPO), you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating fraud risks across payment services. You will work closely with Risk, Operations, IT, AML, and Customer Support teams to monitor transactions, investigate fraud cases, improve prevention controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in strengthening fraud detection frameworks, responding to incidents, and protecting both customers and the organisation from financial crime.
Your key responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain fraud prevention policies, procedures, and internal control measures in the area of Money Fraud Prevention;
- Conduct fraud risk assessments (at least annually), update fraud scenarios, risk profiles, and monitoring rules;
- Evaluate and improve payment transaction monitoring processes in cooperation with IT and Operations teams;
- Analyze potential and confirmed fraud cases, identify trends, and initiate preventive measures;
- Coordinate responses to fraud incidents, ensuring timely risk mitigation;
- Define and monitor fraud risk indicators (KRI / KPI) and assess the effectiveness of prevention measures;
- Prepare regular reports for management on fraud risk levels and the effectiveness of control measures;
- Participate in the investigation of customer complaints related to suspected fraud together with the Customer Support team;
- Contribute to customer awareness and education on fraud prevention topics;
- Cooperate with AML/CTF, Risk Management, IT, Operations, and Customer Support teams, ensuring functional independence and prevention of conflicts of interest;
- Expect to perform routine daily tasks using Gemini, Claude or a similar AI tool to enhance efficiency and productivity.
What we're looking for:
- Higher education degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, or a related field;
- 1–3 years of experience in fraud prevention, payment monitoring, AML, risk management, or financial crime prevention, preferably within the fintech or financial services sector;
- Strong knowledge of Lithuanian and EU AML, fraud prevention, and sanctions regulations;
- Specialised knowledge of PSP services and potential fraud schemes;
- Ability to analyse data, identify fraud and risk trends, and produce clear analytical conclusions;
- Experience in process development and continuous improvement;
- Good MS Office skills and the ability to use digital and AI tools to optimise work processes;
- Independence, objectivity, and accountability when performing fraud prevention functions;
- Excellent command of Lithuanian and good command of English; knowledge of Russian would be an advantage;
- Proven familiarity and experience with AI tools like Gemini, Claude and other technologies, demonstrating a capability to seamlessly integrate these into daily tasks.

- Good understanding of payment service providers’ (PSPs) operating principles and fraud typologies associated with payment services;
- Specialised knowledge of PSP services and potential fraud schemes.
