Mid-Level Backend Developer (PHP + Python / Node)

Overview

We’re building an AI-native Transport Management System (TMS) that replaces fragmented tools (Excel, Samsara, Telegram, etc.) with a single intelligent platform.

At the core:

• Fleet optimization
  
• Predictive maintenance
  
• Real-time decision systems
  
• AI Copilot for operations
  

We’re looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer who can execute fast, think logically, and work closely with a tech lead to ship real features—not just code.


What You’ll Do
1. Build Core Backend Features
Develop and maintain backend services across the TMS
Implement APIs, business logic, and integrations
Work on modules like:
Fleet & asset management
Repair orders & maintenance
Dispatch & tracking

2. Work Across PHP + Modern Stacks
Contribute to existing Laravel (PHP) system
Build new services in Python or Node.js
Gradually help evolve the system toward a more modular, API-first architecture

3. Integrate External Systems
Work with integrations like:
Samsara (GPS, telematics)
EFS (payments, fuel data)
Other APIs and data sources
Handle data syncing, validation, and error handling

4. Collaborate Closely with Tech Lead
Translate product requirements into technical solutions
Get tasks → ask the right questions → deliver clean implementation
Participate in code reviews and iterative improvements

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have
2–5 years of backend development experience
Basic experience with PHP (Laravel or similar)
Strong experience in Python or Node.js
Experience building REST APIs
Understanding of databases (SQL, basic schema design)
Strong Plus
Experience with:
System integrations / external APIs
Background jobs, queues, async processing
WebSockets or real-time systems
Familiarity with Docker or cloud environments
Mindset

You want to grow into a senior / system-level engineer

Laravel (PHP core system)
Python / Node.js services
Redis, queues, WebSockets
REST APIs, integrations (Samsara, EFS, etc.)
Future: event-driven architecture, AI integrations

API for managing truck/trailer lifecycle
Sync service between external systems and TMS
Repair order workflows and status tracking
Notification and alert systems (e.g., geofence events)
